The Kerala government has filled a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a review of the verdict allowing Tamil Nadu to raise the height of the over-a-century-old Mullaperiyar dam.
Terming the dam safe, the apex court had on 7th May, allowed the Tamil Nadu government to raise its water level to 142 feet and subsequently, after appropriate strengthening measures, to 152 feet.
In a review petition, Kerala submitted that the Supreme Court had erred in ignoring its argument that Article 14 of the Constitution had been violated in the non-disclosure and non-supply of the investigations, tests and studies (ITS) on safety aspects and was contrary to the rules of natural justice and fair procedure .
