Kerala Govt initiates to introduce 5 year planning system

Kerala Government has decided to initiate steps to introduce five year planning system in local self government institutions from next year. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that the government is concerned about unusual delay in spending plan allocations. After the cabinet meeting he said in Thiruvananthapuram that local self government institutions will be given more freedom by simplifying rules. The Chief Minister said that a scheme to revive major rivers and back waters of Kerala costing 505 crore rupees has been submitted to the Centre. The cabinet meeting also allocated 27 crore rupees as first phase to tackle water logging in Thiruvananthapuram city.
