The Kerala government today informed the High Court that assets belonging to 248 persons associated with the banned Popular Front of India were confiscated across the State. This follows a High Court order to realise 5.20 crore rupees from PFI activists for vandalising public property during the flash hartal called by the outlawed organisation on the 23rd of September last year.<br />''<br />''The report submitted by the State Additional Chief Secretary, Home said properties belonging to 126 persons were attached in Malappuram district, 23 in Palakkad and 22 in Kozhikode.<br />''<br />''The PFI activists had unleashed large scale destruction of public property on the 23rd of September, in protest against the nationwide raid launched by the NIA, arresting several key leaders of the outlawed organisation.<br />''<br />''The Kerala High Court initiated suo motu proceedings following the hartal and directed district judicial officers not to allow bail to the arrested PFI activists without realising the cost of damage caused by them during the hartal.<br />''<br />''The Court has listed the case for hearing tomorrow. <br />''<br />
