Kerala Government has discontinued publishing daily data on Covid-19 status in the wake of rapid fall in caseload. However, Covid tests will be conducted to record the positive cases. AIR correspondent reports, The first Covid case in India was reported in Kerala on 30th January 2020 on a native of Thrissur who had returned from China. Since then, the State Health Department has published Covid figures for over two years now.<br />''<br />''The fall in cases was swift and dramatic. When the figures were last released on Sunday, two hundred and 23 new cases were reported and the Test Positivity Rate dropped to two percent. The highest ever Covid cases in a day was reported just three months ago. On 25th January daily caseload spiked to 55 thousand 475.<br />''<br />''The TPR in January was hovering over 40 percent. During the second wave, the highest was 43 thousand 529 cases recorded on 12th May 2021. There has been no Covid-related death this month.<br />''<br />''However, in the last few days, deaths that had happened earlier but not recorded as Covid deaths were added to the cumulative toll on the basis of new guidelines.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">In all, 68 thousand 365 Covid-related fatalities have been reported in the State so far. Taking cue from the rapid fall in daily caseload, Kerala Government had recently lifted Covid restrictions imposed under the Disaster Management Act 2005.</span><br />
