Kerala Govt delegation visits Surajkund Crafts Mela

Delegation of Government of Kerala on Tuesday visited the 24th Surajkund Crafts Mela for exploring the possibilities of organizing Malappuram Crafts Mela on the pattern of this famous mela. The second Malappuram Mela will be held in December this year at Malappuram, a renowned tourist destination in Kerala.<br/><br/>Haryana Tourism Minister Mr. O.P.Jain, promising full cooperation to Kerala delegation said that Mela has popularized the State of Haryana internationally.<br/>Suraj S. Nair, Nodal Officer of Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion said that he is planning to bring the diversity and the grandeur of the Surajkund Mela to Malappuram crafts Mela, where various Small Scale Industries, artisans, craftsmen and sculptors from all over the nation to display their product.<br/><br/>He said that Malappuram Mela had planned to have Egypt as their partner country this year and the delegation of officers had visited the work hut of Egypt in the SAARC enclosure of the Surajkund Crafts Mela. He said they have discussed their project with the Egyptian craftspersons and also invited them to participate in the Malappuram Mela. Similarly they have also invited craftspersons from Afghanistan to participate in the Mela and display their crafts.
