Kerala Governor urges scientists to interact more with people, appreciate their concerns and educate them about nation's scientific advancements

<span style="color: #222222;">Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan urged scientists and researchers working in the field of nuclear energy to interact more with the common people, appreciate their concerns and educate them about the nation's scientific advancements. The Governor was inaugurating the eighth international conference of the National Association for Application of Radioisotopes and Radiation in Industry in Kochi on Monday. He underlined the need to cultivate a culture of greater faith in the efforts of the country's scientific community and a belief that science exists for the benefit of the common man.<br />''<br />''Mr. Khan said, the challenge before the scientific community, society, and the government is to strike a balance to optimise the use of resources and increase productivity. Radiation technologies can be optimised to use material and energy to improve productivity, so as to encourage sustainable development, he added. The Governor said, with its homegrown nuclear energy technology, India is evolving as a global player in supporting sustainable development in developing countries.</span><br />
