Kerala Governor M O H Farook died last night in Chennai due to kidney failure. He was 75. Three times Chief Minister of Puducherry, Farook assumed the charge of Kerala Gevornor in August last year.In his long political life, he served the nation as Union Minister and Member of Lok Sabha. Farook also had a stint as Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.Farooq was undergoing treatment for more than a month. Kerala government has declared a seven-day mourning. State government offices and educational institutions will remain closed today as a mark of respect to the departed soul. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan have expressed deep felt condolence in the passing away of MOH Farook.Farook's body was brought to Puducherry last night and the burial will take place this evening.The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has condoled the passing away of Kerela Governor M.O.H Farook. In a condolence message, the Prime Minister said that Farook upheld the highest traditions of public service during his long and distinguished career.Dr. Singh said that Farook will be remembered for his administrative abilities and strong bond that he had with the people whom he represented.Expressing his deep sympathies and condolence to the bereaved family, the Prime Minister said that in the passing away of Farook, the country has lost a veteran politician and leader of the people.
