Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan says higher education sector in the state is inching toward legal collapse

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan today categorically said that he will not give assent to the University Laws Amendment Bill, passed by the State Assembly to replace the Governor as the Chancellor of the Universities in the state. He said the Bill goes against the spirit of the Constitution, the law, and the Supreme Court verdict.<br />''<br />''Speaking to media persons at Aluva, Arif Mohammed Khan said the Higher Education sector in the state is inching toward constitutional and legal collapse.<br />'' <br />''The Governor also referred to the recent instances of those close to the CPI-M gaining admissions and appointments in institutions of higher learning, through fraudulent means and political support.<br />'' <br />''Coming down heavily on the LDF government, Mr Khan observed that they subscribe to an ideology that considers coercion, pressure tactics, and violence as justified means to achieve political goals. He said unionism, aggressiveness, and violence have driven away industries and businesses from the state.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Mr Khan also termed the Chief Minister's recent visit to Cuba as a political pilgrimage and a wastage of public money.</span><br />
