Kerala Governor accuses state govt of breaking every convention and throwing all norms to wind

<span style="color: #222222;">Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan today said that the  University Laws (Amendment) Bill passed recently by the state assembly seeks to legalise illegalities and was aimed at appointing underqualified relatives of the State Chief Minister and other ministers on the rolls of the universities.<br />''<br />''Speaking to media persons in Kottayam, the Governor accused the state government of breaking every convention and throwing all norms to the wind. He said he will not allow the autonomy of universities to be diluted.<br />''<br />''Referring to the Kerala Lok Ayukta (Amendment) Bill which limits the powers of the State Lokayukta, he observed that the basic jurisprudence principle does not allow a person to judge his own case.<br />''<br />''The state assembly had recently passed both the  bills, which are now pending before the Governor for his assent.</span><br />
