Kerala Governor accuses state govt of breaching all constitutional propriety

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has accused the state government of breaching all constitutional propriety and squarely blamed the government's actions for the prevailing deadlock, due to which several bills are awaiting the Governor's nod.<br />''  <br />'' Speaking to media persons at the Cochin International Airport on Friday, Mr Khan said the government is indulging in extravaganzas, while withholding pension for several others citing financial constraints. He pointed out that while PAs of Ministers are eligible for pension after serving just two years, those who served their entire lifetime are denied pension.<br />''  <br />'' He said prior approval of the Governor is needed to table a money bill in the Assembly and alleged that the government is trying to violate such provisions enshrined in the constitution.<br />''  <br />'' Mr Khan said inorder to resolve the deadlock, the state government should stop all extravaganzas, stay away from interfering in the functioning of universities and amend the law which permits a two year service for Minister's PAs to be eligible for pension.
