Kerala government revises the covid regulatory norms to strengthen the Covid defense activities across the state on the wake of surge in Covid cases. The State government yesterday issued new guidelines for determining and regulating covid related activities with respect to micro-containment areas. Based on the revised norms, instead of a specific ward in any local body, the areas where clusters are formed according to the number of patients will now be considered as micro containment areas.<br />''<br />''The Disaster Management Authority has proposed to impose a triple lockdown in such areas. Even areas with less than five covid positive patients within a 100-meter radius can now be declared as a new cluster and restrictions upto to one week can be imposed in such areas under special circumstances. These may include streets, markets, shopping malls, residential areas, flats, factories, offices, IT establishments, workshops, auction centres, and joint families with more than ten members.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">The situation in such areas will be assessed on a daily basis. Meanwhile, Kerala continues to report surge in COVID cases as it confirmed 21,445 Covid positive cases yesterday. The Test Positivity Rate stands at 14.73%. As of now, the Active Caseload in the state is 1,76,518.</span><br />
