The Special Investigation Team of the Kerala Police have seized the weapons suspected to be used by the Italian marines on board Enrica Lexie, for firing at the fishermen. The police have also seized the ammunition found on board the vessel, berthed at one of the oil tanker terminals of the Cochin harbour. The seized material is being sealed.

The weapons will be subjected to ballistics examination to ascertain the ones used for killing the fishermen. The search on board the Italian vessel began this afternoon, in the presence of two Italian Military Police experts, who were specially flown in from Italy.
