Kerala State Budget for the financial year 2021-22 had been presented by Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac today.<br />'' <br />''Beginning his speech by listing out various initiatives implemented by the state government to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, the Finance Minister  said the budget would be a vision document of the development and priorities in the post-Covid Kerala.The Budget  made many populist  measures. Various welfare pensions were hiked.<br />'' <br />''In a relief for farmers, the floor price of rubber was raised to Rs 170 while the procurement price of paddy and coconut was also increased. Mr  Isaac said that  eight lakh new job opportunities would be created in the State this year  and added 20 lakh people would be given employment in five years through digital platforms.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">State government's free food kit distribution will be continued and additional ration allotment was also declared in the budget. Mr Issac  said that the first phase of the ambitious KFON project will be announced next month. KFON ,the Kerala Fiber Optic Network project aims at making the internet accessible to everyone.The Budget announcements assume significance this time as the Assembly polls are just months away.</span><br />
