The Kerala Government has decided to appoint Ombudsman for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme. Addressing the Media at Thiruvananthapuram after the state cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Mr. V S Achuthanandhan said that the decision is aimed at ensuring transparency in implementation of the programmme. It has also been decided to write off loans up to 25000 rupees availed by Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe converted christian families.
