In a significant judgment, Thiruvananthapuram Principal Sessions Court awarded death Sentence to a 30 year old man in a sensational case relating to rape and murder of a 15 years old school girl of Vattappara Village in Thiruvananthapuram District. The girl was raped and murdered by Rajesh Kumar, an autorikshaw driver, belonging to Kattakada, 35 kms from Vattappara on 6th March, 2012. Police arrested the culprit after 7 days of the incident and submitted charge sheet within 3 months. Trial began in November last year.
