Kerala Congress-B leader and former Minister of State, R Balakrishna Pillai has been released from the Poojappura Central Jail in Thiruvananthapuram today on a ten day parole. The Supreme Court had sentenced Pillai to one year rigorous imprisonment in connection with the Edamalayar case. Speaking to media persons after his release, Balakrishna Pillai criticised the state government for denying facilities in jail and reiterated his stance that he is a victim of political vendetta.
