Kerala confirms 8,063 new COVID-19 positive cases

<span style="color: #222222;">Kerala witnessed a slight dip in COVID numbers as it confirmed 8,063 new positive cases today.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The capital city of Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest incidence of COVID infection with 1,100 positive cases.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The test positivity rate reduced to 9.44 per cent.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In all, 110 deaths were also confirmed due to COVID today taking the total death toll to 12,989.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Bringing respite, 11,529 people recovered from the Corona virus infection.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the State Health Minister Veena George informed that the COVID vaccination drive for all over the age of 18 years will soon begin in the state.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">She said that the vaccine will be provided to anyone over the age of 18 in the state without any preferences.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Health Minister said that an order was issued in this regard. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">However, the vaccination of people belonging to special categories included in the priority list as per various government orders will continue in the state.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">As per the usual norms, one must register on the CoWIN portal and select the suitable slot to receive the vaccine.  </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Health Minister also requested not to rush to the vaccination centres without registering and confirming the slot.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">She also assured that the vaccination drive would be intensified and maximized once the state receives the requisite number of vaccine doses for dispersal.</span><br />''  <br />
