Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today urged the CPI-M to drop its plan to hold a march to the Kerala High Court on Monday, in protest against the court verdict sentencing party leader M V Jayarajan to six months imprisonment in a contempt of court case.Addressing a press conference in Kochi this afternoon, the Chief Minister said the CPI-M move to hold the protest march will have serious implications and would lead to the weakening of the judiciary.He noted that the effort of a political party should be to strengthen the judiciary, which is an important pillar of democracy.Referring to his mass contact programme launched recently, the Chief Minister said the feedback received from the people will be utilised to make governance transparent and more people friendly. He said a legislation will be brought in, to make services offered by the government, a right of the people.
