Kerala CM likely to expand his cabinet by next week

In Kerala, Chief Minister Ommen Chandy is expected to expand his cabinet by next week. Mr. Chandy on Friday held discussions with Congress President Sonia Gandhi in Delhi and submitted a draft list of MLAs likely to be included as ministers in the Congress led UDF government in the state. Mr Chandy is also slated to meet Defence Minister A K Antony this evening. Congres party sources at Thiruvananthapuram indicated that over a dozen ministers are likely to take oath. AIR correspondent reports, the name of the speaker is also to be finalised in the coming days. Meanwhile, despite repeated requests from different quarters, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala has said that he will not be joining the cabinet.
