Kerala CM launches work related to first ever Water Metro project in the country

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched the work related to the first ever Water Metro project in the country at Kochi today. <br/><br/>The project being developed as feeder service to the Kochi Metro Rail with an estimated cost of seven hundred and forty seven crores Rupees will be operational in two years.<br/><br/>Our correspondent reports that the project is funded by German Development Bank and an agreement was signed in this regard in the presence of Mr Martin Ney, German Ambassador to India yesterday at Kochi. <br/><br/>The Water Metro will connect the islands spread across Kochi backwaters to main city. The project involves construction of jetties,roads and other basic facilities apart from boat services.
