Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has expanded his ministry by inducting thirteen ministers on Monday, including lone woman minister P.K. Jayalakshmi, nine new ministers are from the Congress. While Indian Union Muslim League got three ministerial berths one of the newly sworn in ministers belong to Kerala Congress (M). With this, the strength of Congress led UDF government in Kerala has gone up to twenty. The portfolio of newly sworn in ministers and names of speaker, deputy speaker and parliamentary affairs ministers are likely to be announced by late evening or Tuesday.
