In Kerala, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan has severely criticised the state election commission for banning the decision to provide rice at rupees two per kilogram to more sections of the society. In a press conference he alleged that the decision is due to political pressure from Congress led opposition. He informed that Kerala government is to file a formal complaint with the Chief Election Commission on the issue. Sh Achuthanadan also urged the Commission to clarify whether Railway Minister's announcement of free travel facility to girl students in trains is violation of code of conduct or not.
