The Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has appealed to the union government to grant a special financial assistance of 485 crore rupees to disburse the compensation ordered by the National Human Rights Commission for the victims of Endosulfan in the state.In a memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister, he pointed out that the centre should help the state to compensate the victims.He also appealed to the Prime Minister to grant necessary clearance for operating Air Kerala, an airline to be formed with equity participation from Keralites working in the Gulf region.The Chief Minister also sought the Prime Minister's intervention to ensure that a uniform low rate of interest should be charged on educational loans instead of leaving it to the risk perception of banks.Addressing a press conference in Kochi last evening, Oommen Chandy said the Prime Minister has agreed to consider favourably most of the demands made in the memorandum. He said the reconstituted Director Board of Air Kerala will meet in Kochi today
