In Kerala, lakhs of pilgrims have reached the holy shrine of Lord Ayyappa at Sabarimala on the auspicious occasion of Makara Sankranti today. The two month long Sabarimala pilgrimage reaches its zenith today evening with makaravilakku and viewing of makarajyothi and the celestial star. Despite rain and unprecedented security, lakhs of pilgrims from across the country have reached Sabarimala for the holy darshan.
