Kerala Assembly adjourned following opposition ruckus over alleged back-door appointments in state

The nine-day session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly began in Thiruvananthapuram today, December 5. However, the assembly adjourned for the day following the opposition ruckus over the alleged back-door appointments in the state.
''
''The opposition alleged that the state government bypassed the public service commission and employment exchange through illegal temporary appointments. Local Self-Government Minister M.B. Rajesh replied that the opposition parties are intentionally organizing a fake campaign against the Government and that all such allegations over the back-door appointments are completely false.
''
''The Left Government has made more than 1.99 lakh appointments through the Public Service Commission in the last six and a half years, the minister added. Many important bills will be introduced during the session which is scheduled from December 5 to 15.
''
''The politically relevant bill to appoint academic experts by removing the Governor as the chancellor of state universities is also expected to be introduced in the ongoing session.
