Kerala Governor Nikhil Kumar has said probity in public life is the bedrock of inclusive development and progress.He was delivering the Republic Day message after unfurling the national tricolour and inspecting the parade at the Central stadium in the capital Thiruvananthapuram today.The Governor said passing of the Lok Pal bill and Lok Ayukt at the state level will ensure transparency and accountability in governance.

The country has time and again demonstrated its commitment to democratic values,good neighbourliness and inclusive growth,he said.Contingents of the Army,Air Force,Navy,CRPF,RPF ,State Police force,NCC cadets,Student Police cadets and Bharat Scouts and Guides took part in the majestic parade.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy,Speaker G Karthikeyan,former Union Minister M M Jacob,senior civil,military and police officials attended the function.Patriotic songs sung by school students added lustre to the celebrations. Ministers unfurled the national tricolour at different district headquarters and took salute.
