Kenyan Olympic marathon champion Samuel Sammy Wanjiru has died after falling from a balcony at his home in the Rift Valley town of Nyahururu. Police said, 24 years old Mr wanjiru had suffered internal injuries and they are trying to establish whether he had leapt deliberately or fallen by accident. Mr Wanjiru was the first Kenyan to win Olympic gold in the marathon. Last December, he was charged with threatening to kill his wife and illegal possession of an AK-47 firearm.
