Election Commissioner H S Brahma has said that Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal violated the model code of conduct in Gujarat by conducting a road show without permission. Talking to a private news channel in New Delhi, Mr Brahma said, model code of conduct had come into force with the announcement of Lok Sabha poll dates yesterday morning itself.

AIR Correspondent reports, Mr Kejriwal was detained by Gujarat police for conducting the show with party workers allegedly without permission from the local administration. His detention triggered violence in Delhi and Lucknow between Aam Aadmi Party and BJP workers.
