Kejriwal to be sworn in as Delhi CM tomorrow

Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi at a function in Ramlila Maidan, tomorrow. The Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung will administer oath of office and secrecy to Kejriwal. Six MLAs, Manish Sisodia, Somnath Bharti, Saurabh Bhrdwaj, Rakhi Birla, Satyendra Kumar Jain and Girish Soni will also take oath as Cabinet Ministers. AIR Correspondent reports that Delhi police has made elaborate security arrangement in and around the ground.

45-year-old Kejriwal who will take oath as the 7th and youngest Chief Minister of Delhi, has invited all the people on this occasion and no VIP passes have been issued from his side. The new Cabinet is not just going to be the youngest ever but also probably the first in which all members, including the Chief Minister, are debutant MLAs.

After forming government, the Aam Aadmi Party will have to face the immediate challenge of fulfilling a number of key promises including cutting power tariff by 50 per cent, supplying 700 litres of free water to each household and passing of Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill. Delhiites have high hopes from the new political outfit, which had a dream run in the recently held Assembly polls in the National Capital.
