Kejriwal seeks PM's intervention in resolving differences between his govt & Centre

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention in resolving the situation arising due to differences between his government and the Centre. Mr Kejriwal said, he is ready to go an extra mile to settle the differences for sake of the city's development.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Mr Kejriwal said Delhi's development has been hit by the tussle between the two sides and there should be no reason why the differences cannot be resolved for the welfare of the people. Referring to Supreme Court's observation regarding confrontation between the Centre and Delhi government, he said a little open mindedness and primacy for welfare of people of Delhi would help in finding solution to the issues.

Mr Kejriwal said, a number of orders issued by the democratically elected AAP government in the past six months have been declared void by the Lt Governor which is unprecedented. Mr Kejriwal's letter to the Prime Minister came two days after a Supreme Court bench had said both the sides should sit together and resolve the disputes and give good governance.

Reacting to Mr Kejriwal's letter, BJP leader Vijendra Gupta said, it would have been much better had the Chief Minister done some honest introspection rather than writing a letter to the Prime Minister. He said, the letter gives an impression that the Chief Minister is sitting on a high moral pedestal from where everyone is to be blamed except him.
