Kejriwal says, development in Gujarat centres around few industrialists only

Aam Aadami Party will contest all the 26 Lok-Sabha seats in Gujarat in the coming Lok-Sabha elections. Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal who is on a four-day electioneering visit to Gujarat, announced this today. Speaking to media persons after his day-long Kutchh visit, he criticized Narendra Modi Government in the state for its alleged anti-people policy. Kejriwal alleged that development in Gujarat is centered around only few industrialists. He said, Modi is a vikaspurush, but only for Adanis and Ambanis. He alleged that Chief Minister Narendra Modi, in nexus with big industries, has acquired public land and it seems that the entire land of Gujarat is on sale.

The AAP leader visited the villages in Bhuj, Bhachao and Mundra Port and listened to the people there. He also met the members of the Sikh community in Lakhpat block and criticized the State Government for recovering the land earlier allotted to them. Earlier in the day, Mr. Kejriwal also faced stiff opposition from the local people during his visit to G.K.General Hospital in Bhuj.

New Delhi District Election Office today issued a notice to Aam Aadmi Party, AAP, for alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct by holding a protest outside BJP headquarters in the city yesterday. The party has been asked to explain by 3 pm tomorrow as to why action should not be taken against it for holding the protest without taking permission from poll officials and in violation of the Code.

Our Correspondent reports, Aam Aadmi Party, AAP, and BJP workers yesterday clashed over the detention of AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal in Gujarat. Kejriwal was, however, released later.

In a related development this afternoon, Delhi police took Aam Aadmi Party spokespersons, Ashutosh and Shazia Illmi, for questioning over their alleged role in yesterday's violent clashes. They are among the party workers against whom FIR has been registered.
