Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today met Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and sought a probe into 1984 anti-Sikh riots by a Special Investigation Team, SIT.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Kejriwal said he is optimistic and will discuss the formation of the SIT in the next Cabinet meeting.
AIR Correspondent reports, in a TV interview, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had stirred the hornet's nest by his remarks that some Congressmen were probably involved in the riots.
Sikh organisations demanded action in the case contending that a suo motu notice should be taken of Mr Gandhi's statement.
