Kathua district admin establishes 5 testing booths for mass sampling of COVID-19

District Administration, Kathua has established 5 testing booths for mass sampling of COVID-19 at Lakhanpur, the gateway to Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Deputy Commissioner, O P Bhagat today inaugurated the testing booths. AIR Corrospondant reports that the new testing facility can conduct 500-600 tests per day and will operate round the clock. Nasal Swab sample will be taken in the these testing booths and after labeling the vial with significant information of the person, it will be sent to Jammu and the report of the test is expected between 24-48 hours. Trained staff of 30 Pharmacists, 10 Nursing orderlies and Laboratory Assistants under the supervision of six doctors will work round the clock to examine all the travellers who reach Lakhanpur from other states and UT's of the country. Moreover, the history of the travellers will also get recorded and four Data Entry Operators are maintaining the database at these collection booths. Deputy CMO, Kathua is appointed as the Nodal Officer of this testing facility and and it will go a long way in testing, detecting, tracing and breaking the chain of transmission of COVID-19.<br />
