In Nepal, the ongoing Kathmandu Literary jatra has been has been attracting large number of people. Set in the backdrop of the historic Patan Durbar , in Kathmandu valley , the three day festival which began yesterday , is to provide a platform for literature from Nepal to engage with it’s international counterpart. The festival the first of it’s kind in Nepal is hosting thirty national and ten international writers and poets. Well known writers include , Namita Gokhale, Alka Sarogi , Mohammed Hanif, Tarun Tejpal, Jug Suraiya and others.speaking at a function , India’s Ambassador to Nepal, Jayant Prasad expressed the hope that the festival will attain the heights of Jaipur festival and be a platform for Nepali literature to reach world stage .
