<br/>Kateekal Sankaranarayanan has been sworn in as the Governor of Maharashtra at the Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Friday. The oath taking ceremony took place at the Darbar Hall in Raj Bhavan where acting Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court J N Patel administered the oath of office and secrecy to the Governor. 79-year old K Sankaranarayanan , who brings with him a vast and varied experience in public life, dominated the political firmament of Kerala for nearly five decades. He was appointed as the Governor of Nagaland on February three, 2007, and held the post till July 25, 2009. He also held the additional charge of the post of Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and Governor of Assam for brief periods. On July 26, 2009, he was appointed as Governor of Jharkhand when the state was under President’s Rule. Outgoing Governor S C Jamir, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal were present during the oath taking ceremony.<br/>
