<br/>The Kashmir valley continues to experience fresh snow fall and rain for the last two days and more snow is expected in the next 48 hours. The traffic on Jammu-Srinagar Highway, which remained suspended for last two days, was partially restored today. Stranded vehicles from Banihal side were allowed to proceed towards the valley. In the world famous ski spot of Gulmarg, four feet snow is acumulated and the prospect of winter sports has brightened. An avalanche warning has been issued for the higher reaches like Sonmarg, Drass, Machil and Keran. Many snow clearance machines have been pressed into service to clear the road in north Kashmir. <br/><br/>In Himachal Pradesh too, heavy snowfall in high-altitude areas and rain in the state capital and other lower areas intensified cold conditions in the State today. There were reports of snowfall from high altitude areas of Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, Kullu and Kinnaur. A report from Keylong, the district headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti, said about two feet of snow has accumulated on the roads.Deputy Commissioner Ritesh Chauhan announced closure of schools tomorrow due to snowfall . The Met office forecast rain or thundershowers in lower and middle hills while high hills could receive rain or snow tomorrow.
