Kashmir Divisional Single Window Clearance Committee clears two hydro-electric power projects

<span style="color: #222222;">Kashmir Divisional Single Window Clearance Committee (DLSWCC) cleared two hydro-electric power projects of five MW each at total project cost of 83.09 crore rupees on Monday to boost hydro-electricity in Kashmir valley.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Director of Industries and Commerce said that such projects being economical and eco-friendly will help to harness the hydro-electric resources in Kashmir valley. He further said that Kashmir has huge water resources which enables to install such large number of mini-hydro projects in valley to increase the hydro-electricity capacity besides providing job opportunities to skilled and unskilled youth of the area.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Earlier, the Divisional Single Window Clearance Committee also cleared two hydro-electric projects of 4.05 MW and five MW in Ganderbal district having total project cost of 106.76 crore rupees.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Union Territory Administration has given highest priority for its development, since hydro-electric generation can meet the growing need of power for industry, agriculture and rural electrification. More such projects are in pipeline and same would be cleared in future. </span><br />''
