In Karnataka, the Central City Branch Police has arrested four contract killers in connection with murder of KAS officer Mahantesh on May 15. Police sources revealed that a top Cooperative Department officer had allegedly contracted the murder of Mahantesh who was allegedly preparing a report on defaulting cooperatives in the state.The police sources said that they have apprehended one suspect named S Kiran, who allegedly received money to murder Mahantesh. The Karnataka High Court had registered a suo moto case on the basis of reports appearing in the media and had ordered issue of notice to the Home Secretary and the City Police Commissioner asking them to file a progress report on the matter by June 20.
