Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai’s brother Ahmed Wali Karzai has been killed in an attack in the south of the country. Police said that Wali Karzai was injured in the attack but succumbed to injuries before reaching the hospital. Ahmad Wali Karzai was the head of Kandahar Provincial Council and was one of the most powerful men in southern Afghanistan. Provincial government spokesman Zalmay Ayubi confirmed that he has been martyred. He said that Ahmad Wali was killed inside his house. Reports say that he was killed by his bodyguard while entertaining guests at home. Ahmad Wali Karzai had survived several attempts on his life before.
