Mr. M.Karunanidhi will continue to lead DMK. This decision was taken at the General Council meeting of the party at Coimbatore today. In a resolution, the meeting lauded Karunanidhi's services to the people of Tamilnadu. General Council passed 25 resolutions, 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State assembly, withdrawal of the hike in petroleum and diesel price and implementation of Lokpal bill are some of the main resolutions passed by the Council. DMK also urged the Central Government to take back the Kachatheevu Island from the Sri Lankan government by considering the security of the Indian fishermen.
