Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. M. Karunanidhi has asked police personnel to have humanistic approach when dealing with issues concerning the public. Addressing senior police officers, on the second day of the District collectors and police officers conference in Chennai today, he wanted policemen to deal firmly with elements trying to instigate caste, communal clashes besides those indulging in smuggling of narcotics, land grabbing, human trafficking and extortion.Referring to cyber crime , Mr. Karunanidhi said law enforcing agencies should pay special attention in dealing and fast tracking these cases. On modernisation of the police force, the Chief minister said a 81 crore rupees project jointly funded by the central and state governments is being undertaken and wanted officers to expedite its implementation.Lauding police officers for their contribution, Mr Karunanidhi said law and order was well maintained in the state.
