DMK President Karunanidhi today underlined the need for secularism to succeed in the General Elections and indicated that he would support the Congress party if it seeks its help.
Inaugurating the Party's poll campaign in Chennai, the DMK Patriarch said though the Congress had let them down on various occasions, it would be forgiven for the sake of secularism.
DMK, a long time ally of the Congress and an important member of the UPA, had broken away from the alliance following difference of opinion on various issues including the Sri Lankan issue.
He also slammed the AIADMK government for being indifferent to the needs of the people of the State.
