Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr M.Karunanidhi has hailed the centre’s decision to conduct caste based census and said the move will help the state in continuing 69% reservation. In a statement issued in Chennai today, he said the with a historic decision, the UPA has fulfilled yet another promise and has proved that it does not brush aside the views of the opposition parties on important issues.On the financial position of the state, Mr Karunanidhi said the borrowings were very much within the limits prescribed by the finance commission. He said the in the last four years, due to the increase in development activities and raise in capital expenditure on account of accumulation of assets, the total borrowings of the state government at the end of the last financial year stood at 88, 882 crores.
