The DMK Party Chief Mr. M. Karunanidhi and former Minister Durai Murugan took oath of affirmation as members of the legislative assembly on Monday. The Speaker D. Jayakumar administered the oath of affirmation at his chamber. The Former Chief Minister was accompanied by his son and DMK legislature party leader Mr. M.K. Stalin and a host of senior party members and former ministers. Mr. Karunanidhi was elected from Tiruvarur with the highest margin of more than 50 thousand votes. This is the 12th time that the DMK Supremo was elected to the assembly. The former Chief Minister was away in Delhi when the newly elected members of the Assembly had taken oath.
