Karunanidhi asks IAS & IPS officials to file reports in Tamil

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.Karunanidhi said that all the officials in Tamil Nadu including IAS and IPS officers should file their reports in Tamil. He was inaugurating the TIDEL IT park in Coimbatore today evening. He appreciated the officers for speaking in Tamil in the function and added that it is the result of First World Classical Tamil Meet that was held in the city last month. These types of initiatives will curtain unemployment to an extent and it will also enhance the export, he added. Deputy Chief Minister Shri.M.K.Stalin who was presiding over the function said that Tamil Nadu contribute 25 percent of India’s IT export. He pointed out that in 2001-02 the State had been able to make 10.2million dollar worth IT export, where as in 2008-09 it has been grown to 58.7 million dollar and in 2009-10 the State is targeting 73.1 million dollar worth IT export. This IT park in Coimbatore will provide 12000 direct and 2000 indirect employment, he said.Union Telecom and IT Minister A.Raja in his felicitation speech said that Government of India will set up an IT Research Academy in Ooty. Tamil Nadu IT Minister Dr.Poongothai Aladi Aruna said that these type of IT Parks will also be set up in other cities in the State like Thiruchirappalli, Salem, Madurai and Thirunelveli.Chief Minister will also address a DMK party public meeting in the evening at VOC park in the city. He will return to Chennai by tomorrow morning.
