As Telecom Minister A. Raja has ruled out his resignation over the 2G spectrum allocation controversy. DMK supremo Karunanidhi has come out strongly to back him. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said Raja has not flouted any rules. Speaking to newsmen in Chennai on Friday he said allocation was made on first come first basis and Raja had followed the same procedure adopted by his predecessors late Pramod Mahajan and Arun Shourie.Replying to a question on the reported charges made against Raja in the CAG report, the DMK President said unless the full report is available , he would not comment on it. About the CAG report on the spectrum controversy, Karunanidhi said he knew about the report and CAG has given adverse reports about all Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers.On AIADMK General Secretary Jayalalitha's offer to the Congress Party Karunanidhi said the Congress party had stated that the doors were shut for the AIADMK.Earlier, Telecom Minster Raja ruled out resignation saying he will prove that everything had been done according to the law. He said the question of his resignation does not arise. He made these comments on Friday, a day after the opposition including BJP and AIADMK stalled proceedings in Parliament for the second consecutive day demanding his resignation. The BJP has again demanded resignation of Raja. Party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said that Raja has stressed that he sought guidance and permission from Prime Minister at every stage and therefore it is the responsibility of the Prime Minister to clarify whether he has personally approved the procedure. CPI(M) chief Prakash Karat and CPI leader D Raja also echoed BJP's demands.The Congress spokesman Shakeel Ahmed said 2G spectrum issue is sub-judice and the CAG report has not been laid on the table of Parliamant yet.
