Kartarpur corridor, which allows Sikh pilgrims to travel visa-free to the Kartarpur Gurdwara in Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah border, reopened today after a 20-month gap. The Union Government yesterday announced the reopening of the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara corridor from today, ahead of Gurupurab – the Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on Friday.&nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' In a series of tweets, Home Minister Amit Shah said, reopening the Kartarpur Corridor will benefit a large number of Sikh pilgrims. He said this decision reflects the immense reverence of the Modi Government towards Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and our Sikh community. The nation is all set to celebrate the Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on Friday. Mr. Shah said&nbsp;Modi Government's decision to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor will further boost the joy and happiness across the country.<br />'' <br />'' Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur Mohammed Ishfaq said that today 28 devotees went to Gurdwara Shri Kartarpur Sahib to pay obeisance. Regarding fresh guidelines he said, now the devotees have to produce RTPCR test report and certificate of getting two doses of vaccine besides online copy of passport and Aadhar card. He said that tomorrow Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and his all Cabinet colleagues will go to Shri Kartarpur Sahib to pay obeisance.<br />'' <br />'' Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their decision to reopen the corridor. Sikh pilgrims from India earlier used to take a bus to Lahore to eventually get to Kartarpur, which made the journey almost 125-kilometers long. The Kartarpur Corridor was inaugurated on 9th November 2019 to mark the 550th Parkash Guruparab (Birth Anniversary) of Guru Nanak.&nbsp;<br />
