The Governor of Karnataka, H R Bharadwaj has asked Lokayuktha to take further necessary action through Lokayuktha police against B S Yeddyurappa who is indicted in the report on illegal mining. A Press statement released by Raj Bhavan says that the Governor has accepted the findings and recommendation of Lokayuktha to initiate criminal proceedings against acting Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. It adds that the decision of the Governor has been forwarded to the Registrar of Karnataka Lokayukta for placing it before Lokayukta of Karnataka. After the swearing in of new Lokayuktha Shivraj Patil today, the Governor told media persons that once he receives report of Lokayuktha police, then further action will be initiated against Yeddyurappa.
