In Karnataka, the vote on account for four months starting April was passed in Legislative Assembly today in Karnataka. After a discussion onbudget, the vote on account was passed by voice vote even as theOpposition walked out in protest. The House also passed Motor VehicleTax Amendment Bill, Karnataka Tax laws Amendment Bill, KarnatakaStamps Amendment Bill and Karnataka Value Added Tax Amendment Bill today. Before this the Chief Minister announced an additionalestimated revenue of Rs. 1500 crores from Commercial, Excise, MotorVehicle and Forest Development Tax.
