<span style="color: #222222;">Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has called upon the police department and the legal cell to work towards improving the conviction rate in crimes against the Scheduled Castes and Tribes. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Addressing a workshop organised by the Social Welfare department in Bengaluru today, he said, the conviction rate in such cases is just five to six percent at present.&nbsp; He directed the investigating officers to file the FIR under relevant sections of the penal code and complete the investigation within 60 days. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He issued directions today to video record all proceedings of receiving the complaint. The Chief Minister informed that a sum of 15 crore rupees has been released to the Deputy Commissioners of districts to compensate victims of caste based atrocities in the state.</span><br />'' &nbsp;
